Posted by admin in jobs , cinema

An incredible opportunity for bilingual filmmakers!
The Burundi Film Center, a not-for-profit media development organization, is looking for Canadian filmmakers to teach (in French) this summer in Bujumbura, Burundi.
For 2 to 4 weeks in July, you’ll help train youth (aged 18-25) the basics of film theory and production, then help them bring their visions to life. Films from the first training session in 2007 played in over 50 international film festivals and received media coverage around the world.
All volunteers will have their accommodations taken care of while in Bujumbura, and a cook will be hired to cover most meals. The only major expense for filmmakers is airfare (approx. $2.000). A field trip to the Rwanda Film Festival in Kigali is also planned.
If this sounds like an adventure that appeals to you, or you want to learn more, visit www.burundifilmcenter.org or contact:

In a remote mountain valley in Ecuador, coffee and sugarcane farmers face the dismal prospect of being forced off their land to make way for a mining project. Unprotected by the police and ignored by their government, they prepare to face down the 'invaders' on their own. Their resistance leads to a remarkable and dangerous stand off between farmers and a band of mysterious armed men high in the cloud forest. In a world dominated by news of massacres and terrorism, Under Rich Earth is a surprising and poignant tale of hope and determination.

THE DEAD WEATHER
Sea Of Cowards

www.thedeadweather.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

PRODUCED BY: JACK WHITE

The Dead Weather are back with the release of their sophomore album Sea Of Cowards. The band exploded onto the music scene early last year with a stunning debut that combined the furious talents of members Alison Mosshart (vocals/ guitar), Jack White (vocals/drums), Jack Lawrence (bass/drums) and Dean Fertita (guitar/organ). Horehound was an exhilarating and electrifying introduction to the band, a gritty blues-driven dirge rock masterpiece. Now, less than a year later, the follow-up is ready to be unleashed.

Sea Of Cowards is a robust and vigorous second act, filled with primal, bone quaking rock rhythms and the same stellar urban blues and throbbing sleaze as its predecessor; but this time The Dead Weather push their sound even further, brilliantly building upon their raw chemistry to create the most vital sounding album you’ll hear all year.TRACKLISTING:
