smartypants_2Dear Miss Smartypants,

What do you do about texts from numbers you don't recognize? I just got a text asking me how it's going, and I have no idea who it's from. Whoever it is got my name and city right, though, so they clearly know me. The person is also in my area code. Should I answer like I know who it's from? Should I ask who it is? Should I not reply?

To Text or not to Text

Dear To Call,

Ask your other friends in the area code if they recognize the number or if anyone you know recently got a new phone. Failing that, just answer with a simple, "Who dis?" Not the most elegant solution, but the simplest is often the best.

Roaming Charges Apply,

Miss Smartypants
