A Benefit for Hollis Hawthorne
As some of you may have heard, a friend I work with at Burning Man,
Hollis Hawthorne, has been in a motorcycle accident while travelling
in India, suffered a head injury, and is in a coma. Her family wants
to bring her home to the US, and we need to raise $200,000 to cover
the cost of the MedEvac air ambulance to get her to Stanford hospital,
where she has been admitted as a charity case.
UPDATE!!
With the help of the $95,000 raised so far by Hollis' friends, family
and the community, plus a substantial loan, Hollis is now at Stanford
Hospital in Palo Alto!
Still, we are not there yet....we want to make sure our girl and her
family have a safety net so they won't have to suffer the severe
financial impact this journey has brought on while they are focusing
on Hollis healing.
Fundraisers are ongoing in San Francisco, New York, Portland, and
Nevada, and pARTicipate will happen in Ottawa!
Performers: Leslie, Shakti fusion bellydance, Francesca (Rockalily
Burlesque) Dani LeBlanc, Safiya, Halyma, Joshua Tacoma, Vera Sagram,
Zamira, Justin Barca, John Lloyd, Dollhouse Dance Co, and more to
come!
Visuals by: The Latest Artists (AO & Deborah O'Malley)
Admission at the door is on a sliding scale, $10 or more, whatever you
can afford to donate. All funds generated from this event will be
donated to Hollis' family via the PayPal account they have set up. I'd
like to generate at least $1000 from this event!

If you can't make the event, please consider donating a few dollars,
every little bit helps!
