In a surprising move, the Gladstone Theatre has chosen to make a significant change to the Noises Off technical team a week before opening night.

Last Monday, (Cult)ure's article Crazy Mayhem of a Show Coming to the Gladstone reported the technical challenges involved in staging the Gladstone Theatre's 2009-2010 season opener.

By Wednesday, Jessica Ruano of The Ottawa Arts Newsletter had broken the story that stage manager Tina Goralski had been fired from the show.

Goralski, the stage manager whom director John P. Kelly described as "a genius" to (Cult)ure, was featured prominently in a recent video about the production by Ottawa actor Kris Joseph.

Ruano quotes Goralski's Facebook page: "Cat's out of the bag. I was fired from Noises Off. It's going to be a weird opening, but I wish the cast and crew all the best. My heart is with you guys. Merde!"

When asked for comment on the firing, Gladstone publicist Crystal Parson's responded, "It is an internal matter, so we're not going to comment or discuss it publicly. We do wish Tina Goralski the best in her future endeavors."

With opening night only a few days away, audiences wont have to wait long to see what kind of impact the firing will have on the technically complex show.

No worries, Jessica. Keep up the great work!

(Cult)ure is going to be there Thursday as well. We're definitely looking forward to it!
