As you probably know by now, we here at (Cult)ure love us some Bob Dylan in a big way. The new issue of Rollingstone reports that Dylan is set to release a new album in late April. While the comparisons to New Morning and Planet Waves (two of Dylan's mediocre 70's albums) and references to accordion on every-single-track don't exactly set my heart aflame with anticipation, the promise of a "surprising" follow up to Modern Times is most definitely intriguing, and any new album by Dylan is cause for celebration! You can prepare for the release new album by revisiting some of (Cult)ure's Bob Dylan related articles: An Interview with Joshua Cicerone, creator of Bob Hates Andy - In which the creator of a webcomic featuring Bob Dylan is interrogated. Half a Dozen of the Other - In which the Dylan bio-pic I'm Not There is analyzed. Bob Dylan Double Bill: Bring Your Own Tissue - In which Dylan and pornography are conflated. Real Guitars are for Old People: Music in the Age of Continuous Partial Attention - In which the authors ponders, "Where are the Bob Dylan's of today?" Bob Dylan Goes Digital! - In which digital theft is defended with spurious arguments, and much Dylan worship ensues. The Heath Ledger Roundtable Discussion - In which the late Heath Ledger, star of I'm Not There, is eulogized. Five Songs Worth Remembering From 2008 - In which a Dylan song is listed as one of the great songs from last year. Heating Up: The Battle for the Jewish voice and the Jewish soul - In which "your zionist friends, and Bob Dylan too" are told the times they are a changin'. Radiohead & the Fall of the Recording Industry - In which major labels are described has having been tastemakers in the past, finding and signing artists such as Bob Dylan.
