The Ottawa Art Gallery presents
Art in the City
Summer Camp 2010

Ottawa's one-of-a kind art camp geared to youth ages 8 to 12, featuring unique hands-on projects, specialized workshops led by artists, and visits to art galleries. Content primarily in English with bilingual staff.

Week One: You, The Superhero!
Find the Superhero in you!
5 to 9 July 2010 (8-12 year olds)

What kind of superpowers would you like to have? Join us for a week filled with activities designed around transforming yourself into a superhero. Projects will include making a costume, creating and exchanging super cards, designing a superhero movie poster, "superhero-ing" your shoes, designing a superhero logo, making a figurine version of your persona, and drawing and writing a comic featuring you, the superhero! Visiting artists will lead children in specialized workshops.

Week Two: Mini-City Mini-Models
Create a miniature model of a fantastic city!
19 to 23 July 2010 (8-12 year olds)

This week children will dream up and explore an imaginary city through the creation of its many components. Participants will engage in variety of art activities, from inventing a hidden world under the city through paintings and drawings, to constructing buildings and structures out of cardboard and paper, to sculpting the landscape out of paper maché. Visiting artists will lead children in specialized workshops focused on the creation of their mini-city mini-models.

Cost:
$175.00 per week (includes pre/post-camp care)
