Last week, Ru didn’t eliminate anyone, which was sort of too bad. I felt that either Yara or Carmen could have gone and I wouldn’t be sad. Neither of them are going to win this thing, so keeping them around seems a bit silly. The mini challenge this week is Rusical Chairs. The ladies have to finish the lyrics to the songs when the music stops, and the challenge will be done in high heels (which they are all super jazzed about). Carmen is trying to control the game by purposely being the last person standing who has to continue the song. Luckily, during the second song, she doesn’t know the lyrics, and is out. Manila is the eventual winner. The main challenge for this week for the ladies to record a new song by Ru, and each will do so in a different style of music. They select musical styles and then get to the rehearsing. All of the ladies agree that Yara does not sound good. While rehearsing, she sounds like Gloria on Modern Family on her karaoke machine. Shangela: Shangela goes a bit nutty in the recording studio, and she doesn’t appear to take any feedback from the music producer. Alexis Mateo: Alexis is very nervous, I think partly because the music producer guy is cute. Her voice is really shaky. Manila Luzon: Manila struggles with some of the higher notes, and I don’t blame her. It can’t be easy to record a song if you aren’t a professional singer. Raja: Raja struggles with the fact that her voice is really deep, and she just sounds like a dude singing, instead of a punk rock chick. Carmen: Carmen is terrible. She is just sort of talking, and she is a diva about it. Yara: Yara struggles with the words, as always. She is certainly trying, but it just isn’t coming off well. Mainstage Ms. Ru looks like a freaking knockout this week. Her outfit and styling is very Tina Turner, but times 1000. It is amazing. Guest judges this week are Jody Watley and Carmen Electra. Manila is up first, and her song is pretty darn good. She also has a hilariously huge afro, but it works for her disco number. The judges give her mixed reviews. Her lip sync and performance weren’t amazing, but the song was good. Alexis is next, and her song is also good. She looks a bit frightening because she has her cans out with only stars covering them. The boob area is reminiscent of the outfit India Ferrah wore when she got picked up by Mimi Imfurst. Most of the judges loved the performance, but Michelle says it was a little bit like Hannah Montana doing hip hop. With her boobs out? I think Michelle dipped into the Absolut. Shangela is next, and she doesn’t look country in the least. Her recording isn’t very country, either. Her tiny cowboy hat also keeps falling off. The judges think it went towards pop than country. They are generally not impressed with her act. Yara is doing pop, and she looks pretty good. Her song is really not bad, either. She also looks frighteningly like Michelle Visage. Will this work to her advantage? The only critique Yara gets from the judges is that she is awfully naked. Carmen comes out next and her reggae version is bad. Also, she seems to not know the words to the song. The judges like her look, but say that her song wasn’t good because she didn’t really try. Raja’s punk rock version is next, she looks pretty awesome. I actually like her vocals, although she does sound manly. Who cares, though? Cher sounds like a man too, but no one gives a shit because she is fabulous. Raja is praised by the judges for all of it—the look, the performance and the song. Raja is this week’s winner, and I think she really earned it. Her performance was the best by far. Carmen is up for elimination, thank goodness. She is just annoying me. Shangela is also up for elimination. The girls will have to lip sync, for their liiiiiives. Oh my Cher. They are syncing to “Believe”. Amazing. I think Shangela’s is way better, but I don’t like Carmen. Shangela is allowed to shante, and stay! Yay! Carmen will have to sashay away. More Fabulousness
