Can you believe it? First art on a Wednesday and now on a Thursday? It's shocking.

Sharon Lemay's show "First Impressions" (pictured: Beautiful Cosmos Flowers) is opening tonight at heARTwood Gallery (153 Chapel St.) from 5 to 7 p.m. You can meet the artist and win a door prize along with the usual wine and cheese. Fun! I love prizes. Show's on until the end of the month.

If door prizes are your thing, head over to Gallery 101 (301 1/2 Bank between Somerset and MacLaren) directly afterwards for a performance by poet Penn Kemp (doors open at 7 p.m.; performance begins at 8 p.m.). Admission is four dollars, but, hey, door prizes!

Opening tonight at Canteen (238 Dalhousie) at 7 p.m. is "Who the Flip is Karl Lagerfeld?!"  Eight artists ponder the engima that is the manic fashion designer until April 15th.

Pamela Cockcroft-Lasserre and Erin Robertson's exhibit "Trojan Horse," a collaborative series exploring masculinity and movement, is also opening tonight at the Ottawa School of Art Gallery (35 George St.) from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit runs until May 10th.

"Flowers from my secret garden" opens tonight at Galerie 240 (240 Guigues Ave.) from 6 to 10 p.m.. No idea when the show ends, so I guess you better run over if you want to catch it.

If you'd prefer to head eastward, Bill Keast's got an opening tonight at Rothwell Gallery (1718 Montreal Rd.) from 6 to 8 p.m. The show runs 'til the end of the month.

There's also a Special Inuit evening and Genie film screening tonight at the National Gallery (380 Sussex Drive). Starting at 5 p.m., Associate Curator of Indigenous art, Christine Lalonde, will host a guided tour of "High-definition Inuit Storytelling," an exhibition covering 20 years of video-making by Igloolik Isuma Productions and its sister company Arnait Video Productions, based in Igloolik, Nunavut. Then, at 7:15, there will be a screening of the film Ce qu'il faut pour vivre (The Necessities of Life), the 2009 Genie Awards' front-runner with eight nominations. Between 6:30 and 7:15 pm, there will be a lively atmosphere in the Foyer with music, appetizers, and beverages (cash bar). Admission is free but seating for the film screening is limited to 399 people.
