PLAIN WHITE T’S
The Wonders Of The Younger

plainwhitets.ning.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

Higgenson says of the album, “It’s still very much a Plain White T’s album. The songs are sincere and melodic, no matter what the subject matter. We want to create an experience that takes our fans to an unexpected place while still giving them songs to sing along to.” As Higgenson points out, the band is in a different place than the one that prompted hits like the twice Grammy nominated “Hey There Delilah” and “1-2-3-4”– and though there’s still plenty of room in their world for romantic pop, among them is the album’s summery first single, “Rhythm of Love” they’re also branching into some adventurous new territory.

The film follows Feist and her supporting cast through an impressionistic array of flickering scenery, echoing stadiums, puppet workshops, the red carpet, a crumbling French mansion, definitive concert performances and uncommonly candid interviews. Itself a part of the creative mosaic it portrays, Look At What The Light Did Now illuminates the synergy of collaboration, art as magnifying glass, and the power of trust.

NO JOY
Ghost Blonde

nojoy.bandcamp.com
Dist: EMI Music Canada

Montreal female-fronted noise pop group No Joy debuts their full length Ghost Blonde on Mexican Summer. Not content to mine the depleted fields of shoegaze and twee-indie sounds for inspiration, the group creates a maelstrom of melody out of both, with a layered, fuzzy approach that incorporates big, clean riffage, anonymous vocals hiding in the background, and a considerable churn across memorable four-minute pop songs. There’s a great deal more structure in their work than is found in many of their contemporaries, and their contemplative song structures work in favor to this approach. It’s the perennial box of chocolates filled with razor wire, but even the most fastidious of modern music archaeologists won’t see this one coming.

With songs such as Save My Life, inspired by his brother’s trip ‘away’ to work in Alberta’s oil fields, and Get Out Of My Head, a song written about the trials his father was having as an independent businessman, come to reflect heavily on Goudie’s own struggles as a musician and make this album his most personal work to date.

Dist: Warner Music Canada

Third Man Records is excited to release The Greenhornes' first full length LP of new material since 2002's Dual Mono. This new album may be their strongest collection of songs yet. It's diverse yet very concise, from the dark pop of lead single "Saying Goodbye," the bubble glam of "Song 13," to "Cave Drawings" moody psych; it's an eclectic and mature work and very much The Greenhornes own. The trio of Craig Fox, Patrick Keeler and ‘Little' Jack Lawrence -heretofore known as The Greenhornes - have been churning out the highest quality rock n roll for well over a decade.
