Every Wednesday (Cult)ure shares with you one of the internet's best webcomics.

When I was a teenager, my father lived in San Francisco. He used to cut out interesting articles and other items that caught his eye in the local underground and independent SF newspapers and then send them to my sister and I in packages stacked full of interesting reading. These packages always included at least a couple of strips of a comic called Red Meat, which I just loved. Imagine my surprise and delight, then, when I learned the strip is available online over at The A.V. Club!

Red Meat often contains static images with no background for all three panels, and its dark/absurdist humour was a huge influence on my own comic strips published in my University paper from time to time. Created way back in 1989, Cannon's Strip is now twenty years old, but as good as ever.

Check it out here.
