Dale Smith Gallery is pleased to present "Travelling Light," a joint exhibition of recent work by photographer Joy Kardish (Ottawa) and painter Angela Petardi (Toronto). Joy Kardish's luminous photo-based works capture the magical elegance of Paris, while Angela Petardi's vibrantly colourful oil paintings transport us to the exotic streets and markets of Morocco. Join us on Friday, July 31 from 7-10 PM to meet the artists and toast the exhibition. The exhibition continues until August 18. 

Karsh-Masson Gallery (136 St. Patrick Street )at Sussex) presents Amy Schissel's "Prolix X" (pictured) and Steven Stewart's "Missing Persons" from July 31 to September 20, 2009.

The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum (3 Rosamond Street East in Almonte) is delighted to announce the arrival of an acclaimed exhibit of international importance. Lauded in Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa, "Halas Lace - Over 100 Years" offers a rich sampling of Hungarian Halas lace, one of the finest types of lace produced in Europe over the past century. The exhibits runs until September 14.

Cafe Morala at 734 Bank Street in the Glebe is hosting a solo show of the silk paintings of local textile artist and surface designer, Elizabeth Piccolo, from July 27 to mid-August. The show includes some illustrations as well as a series on the theme of rivers and oceans using Japanese indigo and shibori resist dyeing to capture the fluidity and sheer physicality of water.
