SO, YOU WANT TO BE A SCREENWRITER:  A FICTION SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP WITH TOM SHOEBRIDGE

Saturday February 5th and Sunday February 6th
10AM - 5PM each day
Members: $100/ Non-members: $125
Deadline to register: January 28th, 2011
Limited to 12 participants

This two-day workshop at SAW Video will concentrate on the structural elements of visual storytelling in dramatic films - theatrical, movie-of-the-week, and on-line. Elements to be covered include visual language, scene set-up, sequences, action, dialogue and script format. Students will be expected to bring a story at whatever stage it is currently in.

Tom Shoebridge has taught scriptwriting for over 30 years in which his students have created many award-winning films. In 1981, he founded the Canadian Screen Training Centre which trained over 7,000 students in 600 workshops until it closed in early 2010. Over the years, Tom has personally offered screenwriting workshops across Canada, in South Africa and Bermuda. He is the co-author of Best Canadian Screenplays, the first anthology of its kind.
