The Canadian Film Institute's new season of experimental film and video returns on October 28th, beginning with one of Ottawa's most well-known filmmakers, Penny McCann. With continued support from Canada Council for the Arts, Café Ex will once again feature a night of films, discussion, and behind-the-scenes insight, hosted at the intimate, artist-run Club SAW. Penny McCann will be in attendance to present a selection of her work in both experimental and dramatic modes, including her newly completed – and ten years in the making – video essay, "In Between (remembering and forgetting)". Other films to be shown and discussed include "The Sisters" (1993), "Marshlands" (2000), and "Helpless" (2001).
This one-night-only event starts promptly at 7:30pm on Thursday, October 28th at Club SAW, 67 Nicholas Street. Admission is "pay-what-you-can."
