*City Slick March 1 – 26, 2011* Ottawa area artists are invited to submit paintings that express ‘city’ from your personal perspective. This is a small group show with no opening reception planned. Deadline for submissions Feb. 15, 2011.

*In Praise of Forests – April 4 – 30, 2011*
With Special Tribute to Beaver Pond Forest in Kanata
Plein air painters invited to submit.

The year 2011 was declared International Year of Forests by the United Nations.
In recognition of the importance of forests, and in particular to painters who seek out neighbouring forests for inspiration for their art, this exhibition will show appreciation for all that forests bring to all living things.
Deadline for submissions March 1, 2011.

PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTISTS
Kanata North Recreation Complex
The City of Ottawa Public Art Program invites artists to apply to develop, design, and implement one or two public art commissions to be integrated into the Kanata North Recreation Complex (KNRC) as outlined in the call. Artist teams may also apply. In keeping with its Percent for Art Policy, the City of Ottawa is accepting proposals for integrated public artwork for various interior and exterior spaces or sites for the KNRC.

Submissions must be received by mail or by hand no later than Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 3:30 p.m.
An information meeting will be held at 172 Guigues Avenue, Routhier Community Centre in the first floor Lounge on Wednesday, December 8 from 5 - 7 p.m. to provide potential applicants with the particulars of the site and the project.
