Happy Friday, Canada and Movie-Going Public!

Posted by April in weekend , true blood , other mags , new york , hotties , games , friday night lights , cinema , canada , badassery , animals

Even though Fridays make everyone happy because it's finally the end of the week, they can also be totally depressing because 1) you still have to make 'til the end of the work day and 2) it's the end of the week. That's okay, friends. I have two pieces of news that ought to bring you cheer.

  1. Sticky
There is a Canadian goose evading the capture attempts of park authorities in Prospect Park, NYC. Why are they trying to capture Sticky? Because he's got an arrow through his neck. He has had for three weeks now. Apparently an arrow through the neck is no big deal to Sticky, who keeps on running, flying, and swimming away. That's some serious badassery, Sticky. No wonder we love those geese.
  2. Tim Riggins and Eric Northman, Two Great Tastes That Taste Great Together
Yes, there is going to be a movie based on Battleship, the board game, and that's a real shame. But it stars Taylor Kitsch (a.k.a Tim Riggins) and Alexander Skarsgård (a.k.a. Eric Northman), so how bad could it be, really? Just so you understand, we're talking about these guys:
    Tim RigginsEric Northman

METAPHORICAL - SOLO SERIES 2010
Vernissage:  Friday February 12th, 2010, 18:00-21:00 The dresses fabricated by Wesley Kirschner are born of her imagination. She works with glass, newsprint, and piano wire to build an art piece to be photographed. By placing each dress in context, she allows the viewer to momentarily forget about the fashion and creates a setting and image that could be an editorial page in any fashion magazine. It is through this vision and imagination that she creates a visual metaphor for the fashion industry. The Red Wall Gallery is located in SPAO at 168 Dalhousie, at the corner of Bruyère, in the Byward Market.

Not only that, his opening monologue showed that he's apparently ready for a musical comedy revival any day now. See for yourself after the jump!

The Dance will Start at the corner of Bay and Florence Street in Centretown, Ottawa and then travel along Florence ending at Bank Street. PhOOM! invites you to this work in progress showing of a candle dance exploring the mystery that surrounds this time of year.  We are very excited to be taking inspiring dance out of the studio and into the mysterious world of the late October night . . .

Artists have assembled to create the Ottawa Art Expo 2009, a juried art show and sale displaying some of the most creative and dynamic artists in the area and beyond. We believe that we have built an event that will delight and intrigue Ottawans for years to come. There is a canteen and bar available all day Saturday and Sunday for you and your patrons’ convenience. Our Gala is being held on Friday, October 30th. Come join me, my fellow artists, and the Honourable Ed Broadbent as we celebrate our work, our passion, and our city’s indomitable spirit. The Fabulous Edsels will be providing excellent musical entertainment for the evening! St. Elias Centre | 750 Ridgewood Avenue
