Akira Kurosawa's 100th Birthday!

In honour of the great Japanese director's 100th birthday, here's a clip from one of his best, "Yojimbo," starring Toshiro Mifune.

Sometimes I wish it was fashionable to wear a robe out in the street, just so I could imitate Mifune in this scene.

Bangkok International Film Festival 2009

Bangkok's prestigious international film festival was officially launched at a press conference on August 17, 2009, by K.Weerasuk Kowsurat, Chairman of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Movie stars, producers, directors and investors will descend for a week long celebration of film. Movies and events will be held from Chiang Mai, Bangkok to Phuket, showcasing the unique beauty, cultural diversity and the warmth and friendliness of Thai peopl in the Land of Smiles.

The festival directors have put together an excellent selection process of films from a round the world.
